Board of Selectmen

The Board of Selectmen sets policy and strategic direction, and coordinates the activities of other boards. They operate as a collective decision-making body.

The Board of Selectmen have many important responsibilities under state law, such as:

  • The power to prepare the town meeting warrant
  • The power to make appointments to town boards and committees
  • The power to employ town counsel
  • The authority to grant licenses and permits

ALL LICENSE HOLDERS: In order for your license to be renewed, you must not have any outstanding Personal Property or Real Estate Taxes, Water/Sewer bills, Excise tax, Police details, Board of Health fees, Building inspection fees, or any other fees to any Department in the Town. Licenses will be ready to pick up on December 9th, as long as taxes are paid and CO inspection is complete.

IMPORTANT - If you hold a license to serve alcohol on your premises, you must have an annual safety/fire inspection. A COPY OF THIS CERTIFICATE MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THIS OFFICE PRIOR TO RECEIVING YOUR LICENSE.  Please click below to schedule your inspection online.
