Marine / Beach Patrol

Aerial image of the lake and surrounding areasThe Marine Patrol Division of the Webster Police Department patrols Webster Lake during the months of April through October. There are currently ten officers that patrol the lake in two boats. Since its reorganization at the start of the 1999 summer season, the Division has increased the frequency and duration of its patrols, as well as making vast improvements to its equipment.

The Division works closely with the Massachusetts Environmental Police, Webster Fire-Rescue, and Webster EMS to assure that the Division is able to provide immediate intervention to any type of emergency situation on Webster Lake.

Budget

Operating on a limited annual budget, the Division owes all of its recent progress to its officers, as well as local merchants. Many of these officers have donated and continue to donate countless hours of their off-duty time to assure that every job that needs to be completed is addressed in a timely manner. It is through these tireless efforts that the Division can continue to provide the high level of service that the residents of Webster and the visitors to Webster Lake saw during past summers.
