Economic Development Committee Vacancies

VacancyThe Town of Webster is seeking one (1) individual to serve on the Economic Development Committee (EDC). The EDC is comprised of seven voting members appointed by the Selectmen and three ex officio members. All voting members are appointed to serve a three year term. The Board generally meets the first Monday of the month in the early evening or as needed.

The general purpose of the Economic Development Committee is to advise the Board of Selectmen, Planning Board and other land use regulatory and advisory committees on matters related to economic development and to support, promote, encourage and advocate for projects that expand the Town’s commercial and industrial tax base in a manner that strengthens the local economy and diversifies the tax base consistent with the character of our community. The committee shall work to maintain interactive relationships to effectively address emergent issues with other committees from a business perspective through the appointment of liaisons to other land use regulatory and advisory committees.

Individuals interested in serving must be residents of the Town of Webster and possess a basic understanding or knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of the subject multiple member body.
