Building Custodian

The Town of Webster is seeking a temporary part-time, second shift Building Custodian who will work under the general supervision of the Town Administrator. This temporary position is available now through June 30, 2018. Position has the potential to become full-time after June 30, 2018. Duties include a variety of custodial/maintenance tasks related to the operation of the Town Hall, Senior Center and other public buildings and facilities as needed. The position requires knowledge of the methods used in cleaning and the use of common tools and snow removal equipment; should be organized and have the ability to follow a schedule and take direction. Essential job functions include sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, polishing metals and woods, washing windows, daily vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, collecting and disposing of trash daily. Qualifications/abilities: high school graduate; required to have and maintain adequate physical strength and stamina to perform the duties as assigned; ability to maintain a professional manner at all times and be attentive to appearance and attitude; ability and willingness to respond to seasonal weather related and other building related emergencies 24 hours daily. Candidate will be subject to pre employment physical, drug screen, CORI and comprehensive background check. Hours are Monday through Thursday 6:00 pm to 9:15 PM, and Saturdays 8:15 AM to 2:15 PM. No Saturday hours during July or August. Salary DOQ.
