Webster’s Gladys E. Kelly Public Library – Library Director
 

The Town of Webster, a diverse community of 17,000 people in southern Worcester County, Massachusetts, is seeking candidates for the position of Library Director. The library has an annual budget of approximately $400,000 dollars and maintains a staff of about 7 FTE.

Under the authority of the Board of Trustees, the Director is responsible for carrying out the library goals, guidelines and policies, as well as supporting and advising the board in the execution of its duties and responsibilities. The library is a department of the Town and the Director reports to the Town Administrator for administrative and budgetary matters.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess the following qualifications: Masters degree in library and information science from an ALA accredited program and five years of increasingly responsible experience in professional library work to include administration, collection development, library technology and strategic planning. Excellent written and verbal skills are required.  Strong supervisory skills and ability to work with peers, subordinates and diverse groups is required.
