[ARCHIVED] Memorial Beach

This past weekend we had our first nice day in a while. With the sunshine came a lot of activity at the beach. Unfortunately there were many not following the state guidelines put forth for park usage. As the weather gets nicer we understand the desire to get out, but in order to keep the area open we ask that you follow the guidelines. We will have a police presence there but we are really counting on you to police yourselves.  Parks and Memorial beach are being kept open for passive recreational activities only.   Our main goal is to keep our community safe.  To that end, please follow these guidelines or the beach will have to be closed.

Allowed use of parks and Memorial Beach

  • Passive recreational activities such as walking and running
  • Sitting inside your car
  • Non-contact recreational activity
  • Fishing at far right side of beach

Not allowed at parks and Memorial Beach

  • Picnicking
  • Gathering in groups
  • Contact recreational activities
  • Fishing at any area other than right side of beach (including boat ramp)
  • Sunbathing
