Temporary Firearms Licensing Procedure

Update for LTC / FID processing:

Mail in applications for renewals are still being accepted and will be processed as they are received. With that being said, if your permit isn’t set to expire in the months of March, April or early May, please wait until sending in your application. We want to be able to process and keep active current permits before they expire first. In an effort to streamline and complete the renewal process please follow the below instructions:

1. Fill out the application completely and be sure it’s legible. This includes both dating and signing the application, along with the affidavit page (4th page). These applications can be found by clicking here.

2. Include a $100 check payable to: Town of Webster (please do not postdate the check). There is no application fee for applicants over the age of 70.

3. On the mailing envelope please write ATTN: Firearms Licensing in the address area. This will ensure that your application is properly sorted.

LTCPhoto4. Because all applications need an updated photo we are asking all applicants to take a photograph and email it to the newly created email address of Please include your name in the subject line along with your permits expiration date. The photographs need to be framed in a manner where the shoulders of the applicant are present with no portion of the head being obscured. (Please remove eyeglasses and hats). Please use a solid color background. The photographs themselves do not need to be of a high resolution but should be clear. Please refer to the sample photograph included in this post.

Once the application has been processed a receipt for the transaction will be mailed back to the address you provided on the application. Any issues or discrepancies with the application will result in it not being processed in a timely fashion. If there is an issue with the application, Sgt. DeSantis will make contact with you and attempt to rectify the issue.

*New application processing is discontinued for now but will hopefully resume in May. If you wish to apply for an LTC or FID, feel free to call Sgt. DeSantis and leave him a voice mail towards the end of April so he can begin to compile a list of individuals wanting to obtain their permits.
